ABOUT THE ARTIST
"My artistic practice is an exploration of elemental alchemy, rooted in the physical and spiritual intersections of the natural world. I work primarily through photochemical cyanotype, botanical contact printing, encaustic, and ceramics, weaving these diverse mediums into a tactile dialogue. By harnessing UV light, organic tannins, and the transformative power of heat, I allow the inherent chemistry of my materials to guide the creative process.
This technical dance is deeply intuitive, fueled by a spiritual connection to loved ones lost and a desire to capture the ephemeral energy of the earth. My studio is often nomadic; I find inspiration in the dense textures of ancient forests and the warm, arid landscapes encountered during my travels. By creating in direct conversation with the environment, I collect the unique botanical and atmospheric signatures of a place, translating the fleeting beauty of nature into permanent, soulful artifacts. My work serves as both a physical record of the landscape and a bridge to the intangible connections that we all feel with nature.
My work has been exhibited across the United States, licensed for international book covers, and featured in numerous publications. My pieces are held in private and public collections worldwide. When not traveling, I create from my home studio in Akron, Ohio.
